About Me

Sometimes my husband has to tell me to “change my face” when listening to people preach or teach. That’s because I’ve become an eyebrow furrower of the worst kind. I wasn’t always this way, I would gobble up most thoughts on all things Jesus and spiritual growth, that is until it left me self-absorbed, duped into believing all sorts of bad theology, and teetering on heresy. Before you think, “Wow! She’s gullible!” let me give you my credentials:

  • I grew up in a Christian home with incredible Christian parents.

  • I grew up in a staunch bible-based church that wasn’t weird.

  • I went to a four-year Bible college, which I am still grateful for having attended.

  • I have a Master's in Theological Studies in Biblical Studies from Regent University (2019).

  • I am currently working on my PhD in Biblical Exposition from Liberty University.

I am not nor have ever been someone that others would call gullible. No, the more appropriate word is “deceived.” After I came out of the fog of bad theology, it was as though I could see it everywhere. Hence, this newsletter. If you are curious about what it means to understand when you’re listening to or buying into bad or false theology, then you’ve found the right Substack. Stay with me and maybe we can keep each other out of the claws of deception.
